The following is my transcript of a copy of a Somerset Will provided by Graham Williams of Canton, Cardiff.
This is the last Will and Testament of me George Spiller of Corfe in the County of Somerset Laborer, which I make for the disposal of all my Worldly Estate and Effects in manner following, that is to say, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Spiller my Bed performed and also my Clock.
All the rest residue and remainder of my Monies and Securities for money (part whereof doth consist of the sum of Thirty pounds upon Mortgage by Thomas Rowsell to my said Daughter whose name was used only as a Trustee for me the money belonging to and being advanced by me) Goods and Chattels personal and Testamentary Estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever, subject to the payment of my just debts and my funeral and testamentary expences, I give and bequeath unto my Eight dear Children John, William, Mary, the wife of Henry Bord of Orchard Portman, Elizabeth, George, James, Robert,and Henry in equal parts shares and proportions.
And I do make constitute and appoint my said Daughter Elizabeth Spiller Executrix of this my Will in trust for the purpose aforesaid for herself and my said other Children
In Witness whereof I the said George Spiller the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of paper set and subscribed and signed my name or mark this thirtieth day of April one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight.======================================
